iQoo, the sub-brand of Vivo, is gearing up to launch its new flagship smartphone, the iQoo Z9 5G, in India soon. The device has been spotted on various certification sites, including BIS and Bluetooth SIG, hinting at its imminent arrival. Now, the phone has also appeared on the Geekbench benchmarking platform, revealing some of its key specifications.According to the Geekbench listing (via MySmartPrice), the iQoo Z9 5G has the model number I2302 and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC, which is a 6nm octa-core processor with a peak clock speed of 2.80GHz. The phone has 8GB of RAM and runs on Android 14 OS out of the box. The device has scored 1186 points in the single-core test and 2683 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench 6.

The Geekbench listing contradicts the previous reports that claimed that the iQoo Z9 5G would come with either the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset. However, it is possible that the phone may have different variants for different markets, or that the Geekbench listing is inaccurate.

Apart from the Geekbench listing, some other details of the iQoo Z9 5G have also been leaked online. The phone is expected to feature a 6.44-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The phone may also pack a 6,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging support, which could fully charge the device in just 15 minutes.

The iQoo Z9 5G may also sport a triple rear camera setup, co-engineered with Leica, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The phone may also have a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The phone may also come with an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, a USB 3.2 port, and a HyperOS skin based on AOSP.

The iQoo Z9 5G is expected to launch in India in March 2024, along with another variant called the iQoo Z9x, which may have some minor differences in the specifications. The phone will be the successor of the iQoo Z8, which was launched in China in August 2023 with a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC, a 64MP dual rear camera system, and a 5,000mAh battery.

The iQoo Z9 5G will compete with other premium smartphones in the Indian market, such as the OnePlus 12, the Xiaomi 14, and the Samsung Galaxy S24. The pricing and availability details of the iQoo Z9 5G are yet to be announced, but it is likely to be in the same range as the iQoo Z8, which was priced at Rs 19,390 for the base variant in China.
